Christmas gifts

... Santa Claus came and brought gifts. The gift was the most anticipated one for my baby ... will turn three years to March this year and received the gift from his father after "writing" letters. I must say that has not had a great enthusiasm in opening the package, it is still too young to understand the mechanism of Christmas from the perspective of consumerism. Next year will be different and we will try to convince grandparents and uncles do in addition to the extra gifts from Santa! Mission impossible, but we will try this year ... was a failure ... has received more than 5 free gifts "ask" and without veramente.Sigh appreciate them! My husband and I decided to "make a symbolic gift, he gave me a scarf and a book that I will have to" split "with her little man ... a book about his father rabbit and hare. A book for them ... the last puppy just wants his mom to do anything ... and "the father does not want" ... then I thought of giving them this book about the well between the father and your puppy. Happy holidays to all

a baptistery ... THAT SHINES! Restoration revealed in Sant'Ambrogio

Sunday, December 5 at 21 in the parish church of St. Ambrose was revealed the restoration of the chapel of the Baptistery, the first chapel to the right into the church.
Before the real "revelation", takes the restorer, Francesca Olcese, and different personalities. Leading the night was Marco Damonte, representing the cultural circle Kairos, in the years that followed the restoration of two other chapels also placed in the right nave of the collegiate church of Saint Ambrose: the host and the wooden crucifix that shows Altarpiece of St Ambrose on the Barbagelata. Gradually succeeded greetings authorities agreed, first Bishop Wolf, then the Mayor Delfino and manager of the diocesan office for cultural Pacini. The greeting of the bishop focused on the beauty and goodness of restoration work going to recover not only from the artistic point of view but also from the liturgical point of view an essential element which the Baptistery, which is returned to its primary function , that of being the place of baptism for Christians. The Sacrament of Baptism is the foundation of the Christian life, through it all the baptized become part of the Church as God's children and participate in its mission. The intervention of the mayor, that recognized the meritorious efforts of the club Kairos, he went straight to the importance of the recovery of the sacredness of the celebration, perhaps something that is sometimes overlooked, but which must be sought in respect of all, even our ancestors who have left evidence of deep faith and community spirit. The head of the diocesan office focused on the difficulties of coordinating work and decide which recovery should be pursued and welcomed the interest and support in this and had on previous occasions. The restorer, leaving plenty of details at the end of the meeting, when it is actually revealed the eyes of all the restoration work, placed the figure of Antonio Brilla, Savona author of the sculptural group representing the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River, revealing a side of the story of being a great-grandson of the artist, a fact which has doubled his energies in order to deliver the work in all its original splendor. The choir "Collegium Gameraniensis" Stella Gameragna has graced the evening with three songs beautifully sung, drawn from the Gregorian repertoire and early baroque period that it is precisely this "Collegium". To settle the action, took the guest Lazzoni Sr. Maria Cristina, mother general of the 'Institute of the Daughters Immaculate Virgin Mary, "which, starting from the Baptistery of Shine, illustrated how the light shone in the Baptism of the figure of Mother Teresa Vallerga, founder of the school and called its object in the baptistery of the evening. The mother's impassioned words have warmed the atmosphere, making it really intensified the night: in fact, the small figure of Mother Teresa Vallerga it has emerged just as bright a fellow citizen to be proud of. The evening ended with the removal of the curtain that hid the chapel and with the lighting of the new lights: surprised those present were able to admire the beauty of the sculptural group, which had been obscured by time and instead now shows new details and unexpected colors, thanks to the expert efforts of the young restorer Francesca Olcese.

do not change with any

Maria Giraldo beginning ... I did not know wrote books for children, but talking to her about my son told me of his passion for writing. At the time advised me a book titled "Do not change to anyone" with illustrations by Nicoletta Bertelli and just recently I started to read to my little puppy two and a half years. The book is the fear of abandonment. The summary is this ...
... The fear is of abandonment: just a rebuke, in fact, because the little kitty Tupitù themes that his mother would want to share with a baby smarter, more beautiful and better than him. takes but a few words, spoken with sincerity by her mother, to banish these bad thoughts, to reassure the kitten and bring back the good mood.
Since my puppy goes to the nest for several hours and will arrive in March also saw that his little sister, I found this book very cute and sweet to read with him.
But I'm not advertising, is a way to share something nice with all of you, mothers or not.

my jewel in a jewel in the flat plate

Fabiana "a jewel in the pot" with a recipe for sponge cake. A cake that reminds me reminds me of my childhood ... Mom prepared all the ingredients on the table, but also remember that I was actively involved in the preparation and always made me clean the bowl with your fingers:) This cake I made with my baby today, I did clean the bowl with his fingers and had a great time (I reviewed in it). The jewel (if you can call it that) are the earrings that I have donated myself. I love the sea, I love the starfish and I wanted so much to have these earrings ... nobody has ever thought of giving them to me and I have bought! This is the recipe for the mother sponge cake:
Ingredients: 4 eggs 100 gr.
starch 130 gr.
sugar 1 teaspoon baking powder cake
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract zest of half a lemon

powdered sugar for garnish

Methods
Mount with red eggs and whip the egg whites separately zucchero.Montare. Stir starch, baking powder and vanilla and lemon zest. Install fine for a good half hour.
Grease a round baking pan well and bake for 40/45 minutes at 180 degrees.
Dust with icing sugar cake at the end cottora.

simple recipe ... but for me it has great sentimental value. Thanks to Fabian for his

For the holiday Holy Rosary in the church of San Domenico in Varazze

The Holy Rosary is a prayer to Mary that Paul VI, Apostolic Exhortation in Marialis cultus defines as "a compendium of the whole Gospel." This teaching is also offered by Catechism of the Catholic Church, from now on CCC, n. 971. Also the CCC, n. 1674, calls on the catechesis is not restricted to the liturgy of the sacraments and sacramentals, but also to other forms of religious popular, among them the Rosary. Still teaches the CCC, 2678: "The medieval piety the West developed the prayer of the Rosary, popular substitute for the Prayer of the Hours ...". Finally, CCC, 2708 points to the importance of meditation that puts into action the whole person, being-as-Christian prayer careful to ponder the mysteries of Christ, as is the case ... in the Rosary.

The litany is ancient in the Church, and was otherwise practiced by medieval monks and lay brothers who, not knowing the Latin did not participate in the great liturgical prayer. According to a pious

assignment was at St. Dominic "invented" the rosary .. In reality only in 1470 established in France the first Confraternity of the Rosary, and only a century later, in 1569 a Dominican pope, St. Pius V, sets the architectural lines of the Rosary in separate joyful, sorrowful and glorious. For each group of five decades of mysteries Ave Maria , preceded by an Our Father , and followed by a Gloria , and sometimes by a Eternal rest. Paul VI in the already quoted Apostolic Exhortation Marialis cultus recognized the merit of the Dominican Friars have played a sustained effort to spread of this prayer is eminently Christological, albeit through Mary. "For Iesum to Mariam."

John Paul II added a fourth mystery: the "light". You can use it to Thursday, but it is not obbligatorio.df

We can say that in every Dominican church there is an effigy, usually a statue depicting Mary and Child Jesus, with a rosary in his hand. Around fifteen are painted boards depicting the fifteen mysteries brought to the meditation of those who pray. It 'important to pray the rosary for which all are invited, from Monday 27 September to Saturday, October 2 in the church of San Domenico at 17.30 for a meditated Rosary and Mass for 18 hours. So we will prepare well to outdoor festival of the Holy Rosary to be celebrated Sunday, Oct. 3. The liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary will be Oct. 7. With the liturgical reform of Vatican II have eliminated all the parties set for a certain Sunday, to give its due importance to this day, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. On October 3 to express our devotion to Mary with the procession on Sunday but we will not forget, our Passover week. Held meditation on the mysteries, and the homily in the Mass, including James Grasso, op, of the Convent of San Domenico.

not drive away the thought in 2010 - and VIII - Traditions and Tastes from the Old Walls Alpicella

The summer does not drive away the thought - Edition VIII
knowledge and flavor to Alpicella and inside the old walls

Knowledge and flavors, not a mere play of words, but an impressive combination of culinary culture and scientific knowledge brought by the Kairos Circle of Varanasi on Tuesday 31 and the next Saturday, September 4, 2010.
After the success of last year, "Knowledge and flavors in Varazze in the Middle Ages" is the theme of the eighth edition of "The summer does not drive away the thought, an event now traditionally expected by residents and guests of the lakeside town. The two evenings will be offered a tasting of some dishes cooked according to ancient traditional Ligurian recipes, carefully selected.
The first evening will feature the village of Alpicella, one of the richest in history. In its territory were in fact carried out excavations attest to human presence in prehistoric times. It remains an impressive testimony in newly renovated museum, whose visit will be led by some members of the Friends Alpicella Archaeological Museum. Then you can visit the parish church with works of art of some interest, including marble altars from Genoa organ recently restored. This fraction gave rise to different protagonists of local history and beyond, its strategic position as a necessary step for Beigua has made in the not too distant past a truly important. Given the partnership between Varazze and Beit Jala in the Holy Land, will be presented and highlighted the figure of Mgr. Vallerga, the first Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem in the late nineteenth century, whose family was precisely native of Alpicella.
For this event the meeting is at 18:30 on the Piazza IV Novembre, the center of the village, easily accessible by car or public transport.
The second evening will be rather a nice return. Once again, this suggests a visit inside the Old Walls Centrally located in Varazze, on the slopes of the hill of the pocket, the oldest and best preserved of the "medieval Varagine. The occasion is the restoration, now completed, some premises adjacent to the ancient bell tower of the old St. Ambrose, then raised to become a guard tower. The restoration will be presented in terms of architecture and the pictorial part of Dr Patrick White who has literally hands-on lime and the like. Will also be presented on CD published by Amadeus of Lamentations of Holy Week, unpublished Francesco Antonio Vallotti, recorded exclusively during the last edition of the Festival of Sacred Music.
Entrembe evenings will visit of corners and otherwise accessible with difficulty. We therefore present such opportunities were available to .... flight! The Campanin Russu ensure its presence by reading beautiful poems composed in dialect and Italian members of the association.

The event, organized by Kairos Circle, with the collaboration of the City of Varanasi, the Collegiate Parish of St. Ambrose's Parish St. Antonio Abate Alpicella of Campanin Russu, the ACLI Alpicella, the Friends of the Museum of Archaeology and Alpicella Archièo company.
